SNMP Agent Gateway: TL1 Adapter
This Adapter supports TL1-based Network Elements and functions as a proxy (or gateway) for converting SNMP-to-TL1.As such, it allows SNMP-based management systems, such as HP OpenView NNM, to manage telecommunications equipment supporting a TL1 interface. The Agent converts SNMP requests, such as GET and SET, into the appropriate TL1 commands and sends them to the TL1 NE's via TCP/IP. TL1 alarms and events received from the NE's are converted into SNMP Traps and sent to the configured management system destination. In addition, the Agent Gateway manages the TL1 communications link to the NE's and handles the TL1 logins. The Agent is fully configurable and customizable. Each SNMP Operation can use the default handler or can be overridden with a custom user-provided handler.
